Negrense athlete Ariel Joseph Alegarbes, 17, of Victorias City, Negros Occidental, yesterday paid a courtesy call to Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, and presented to him his gold and silver medals won in the 2021 Asian Youth Para Games held in Bahrain in December last year.

Alegarbes won gold medal in the 100m butterfly swimming competition, and silver medals in the 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke, respectively, representing the Philippines.

He was accompanied by other Negrense athletes who won in the 2021 Pilipinas Para Games Online Para Chess Competition (Men’s Physically Impaired Category), including Ric Abanco of Murcia (silver), Jordaine Tupas of Talisay City (bronze), and Ronnie Villa of Victorias City (7th place).

They were joined by Provincial Sports Coordinator Anthony Carlo Agustin.*
