Lone Filipino gold Olympic medalist Hidilyn Diaz yesterday urged her countrymen to make a “wise choice” of candidates in the May next year elections.
Diaz, who was conferred with a title of an “adopted daughter” of Negros Occidental through a resolution unanimously approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, and concurred by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, however stressed that she cannot endorse a candidate, being a member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
She was recently promoted to the rank of an Air Force Staff Sergeant, after winning a gold medal in the recent concluded 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Diaz said there is still a time for the youth to register, in order to vote in the synchronized elections next year.
If we will select those whom we will vote, maybe those who uphold the values, she stressed, adding those candidates will serve as a guide and lift the Filipino people.*
