The National Task Force ELCAC (Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict) conferred the Gawad Parangal Award to Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson during its 5th founding anniversary on December 4, which was held at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
The Gawad Parangal Award aims to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of those who have made a positive impact on our society and worked in the convergence of the efforts to attain our goals in ending the local armed conflict, according to the NTF ELCAC.
Lacson chairs the Regional Peace and Order Council of Western Visayas, and is the concurrent head of the Provincial Peace and Order Council of Negros Occidental.
Other awardees from Western Visayas were Juan Jovian Ingeniero, DILG regional director and chairperson of the RTF 6 ELCAC Technical Working Group, and Prosecutor Flosemer Chris Gonzales, who also chairs the regional TF ELCAC Legal Cooperation Cluster.*
