Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and three other Capitol executives are off to Guam to attend its Independence Day celebrations on June 8.

Starting June 7 to 9, Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer will serve as the acting governor, with Board Member Rommel Debulgado as the acting vice governor, based on the memorandum issued by Gov. Lacson, disclosed Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz yesterday.

Diaz said he and Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena and Provincial Information Officer Cha Cha Magallanes-Tan, will be joining the delegation of Gov. Lacson.

He said that Gov. Lacson was invited by Philippine Consul General Patrick Hilado to speak at the Independence Day rites as guest of honor and speaker.

Gov. Lacson will also pay a courtesy visit to the governor of Guam, and other government agencies, including the Guam Development Authority, to explore and learn, on what could be adopted for implementation in Negros Occidental, Diaz said.

“We will also explore tourism, and how to increase the exchange of travelers between Guam and Negros Occidental,” he added.

The governor is slated to return to work on June 10.*
