An unidentified gunman shot and killed Johnryl Calunsag on Saturday night at Barrio Wak-wak, Barangay 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
Calunsag, 34, succumbed to multiple gunshot injuries. He was reported by the police to have been declared dead on arrival at the San Carlos City District Hospital.
Initial police investigations indicated that Calunsag was sitting in a pedicab when he was approached and shot several times by the gunman.
PLt. Col. Jesus Mesahon, San Carlos City police chief, said they already have a person of interest in the commission of the crime.
Mesahon, in an interview with Aksyon Radyo, entertained the possibility that the incident may have been drug-related.
Recovered from the scene of incident were four empty .45 caliber pistol shells.*
