A solo art exhibit titled “Martinez in Many Ways” is now ongoing at the Artfull Gallery+Cafe along Lacson-18th streets, Bacolod City featuring the creations of Bacolod artist Rodney Martinez.
The body of works of Martinez, a past president of the Art Association of Bacolod (1980 and 2016), spoke of an artist who is prolific, hardworking and relentless in his search of new techniques and ideas.
His theme mostly revolves around women but recently he tried something different and has included surreal abstract paintings in his exhibit.

Martinez said he has worked with different medium like pastel, acrylic, oil and has also tried sculpture. However, he has used pastel for a long time since it is soft and light to use so he can finish an artwork faster.
He said the exhibit features his old and new artworks.
Some showing women playing musical instruments, a woman praying while having a face mask on, a mother with her daughters, and many more.*
