A 14-year-old, shot dead on Thursday night in Brgy. Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, was reported to be the 11th victim of shooting incidents in the city for the month of June.

Initial police investigations show that the victim was on his way home when he was shot by a bonnet-wearing unidentified gunman.

PCapt. Elmer Bonilla, Police Station 7 chief, raised the possibility that the victim may have been a victim of mistaken identity, based on the testimonies of his mother.

The minor, whose identity was withheld by the police, died on the spot.

Based on CCTV footage secured by the police, about seven armed men were involved in the killing of the minor.

On the other hand, three unidentified suspects robbed two employees of a multi-purpose cooperative at gunpoint in Brgy. 2, Hinobaan, Negros Occidental, on June 23.

Two of the three suspects, who were wearing face masks, baseball caps and hoodie jackets, with one of them armed with a gun, entered the Hinobaan Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

The suspects, with one serving as a look out, divested the two victims of P1,500 in cash, two cellular phones and wallets containing personal identification cards before fleeing on board a motorcycle.

Stephanie Bonda, 22, reported to the police that she was robbed of P15,000 by three unidentified suspects on June 23 at Hacienda Nacab in Brgy. Bubog, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Bonda told the police that she was about to deposit P15,000 in cash to a bank in Brgy. Zone 7, Talisay City, when an unidentified person sprayed something onto her face that made her dizzy.

The suspects brought her to a van, where the victim noted the presence of three persons, including the driver, inside the vehicle, police investigations further showed.

The victim, who regained her consciousness, was later found lying down along the national highway of Talisay, the cash and her cellular phone both missing, according to the police.*
