Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Geosan County, Republic of Korea, represented by Lee Cha Young, for the development of organic agriculture advocated by both governments.

The MOU signing was held during a virtual meeting yesterday at the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City, which also witnessed by Edgardo “Boyet” Uychiat, elected Board Member of International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) Asia.

Lacson said that the MOU intends to build up mutual cooperation between the two governments, reaffirm their commitment for the advancement of organic agriculture, and promote activities related to the development of organic agriculture in the countries of two governments.

It is also stated in the MOU that both parties intend to implement, jointly and in coordination with the partners, activities based on the proposals discussed and approved by mutual agreement.

Such activities may include exchange of organic specialists to develop new proposals, provide technology expertise, training and education, monitor project delivery and assess outcomes, jointly with partners.*
