The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office ranked number one among key police units under the supervision of the Police Regional Office 6 in the arrest of wanted persons in Western Visayas from January to Sept.15 this year.
P/Lt. Col. Joem Malong, spokesperson of PRO 6, reported yesterday that 1,196 fugitives were arrested by NOCPPO, with the Iloilo Police Provincial Office ranking second with 492 accounted wanted persons, while 158 had been arrested by the Capiz Police Provincial Office.
The Bacolod City Police Office also accounted for 138 wanted persons, Aklan Police Provincial Office – 115, Iloilo City Police Office – 100, Antique Police Provincial Office – 83, Guimaras Police Provincial Office – 57, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 with 17.
All over Western Visayas, there were 2,411 wanted persons nabbed by the police, on top of the 12 fugitives who surrendered, Malong said.
Police Brig. Gen. Rene Pamuspusan, PRO6 director, said in a statement that the arrest of wanted persons has a huge impact on the anti-criminality efforts of the region.
Pamuspusan said they will further intensify manhunt operations against wanted persons to hold them accountable for the crimes they committed.*
