About 4.8 million of suspected shabu and its paraphernalia were seized by policemen in series of buy-bust operations on February 10 and 11 in Victorias City and the highly-urbanized of Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, that led to the arrest of four drug suspects, police records show.
A joint buy-bust operation of the PNP Drug Enforcement Unit and local policemen on Thursday led to the apprehension of Jesther Soquena, alias Bong, of Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City, and Biboy Dacumos, of Purok Lison, Brgy. 1, Bacolod City, during a buy-bust operation in Hacienda Cristina, Brgy. 21, in Victorias City.
The arrest of Soqueña, who is in the drug watch list of Victorias City PNP, and Dacumos, yielded about half a kilo of suspected shabu with a market value of P3.4 million, P1,000 in marked money and a Toyota Vios vehicle, according to PLt. Abegael Donasco, deputy spokesperson of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
As a result of the successful anti-drug operation, Donasco said that PCol. Leo Pamittan, NOCPPO acting provincial police director, commended the concerned police units for their continuing efforts in the campaign against illegal drugs.
Another buy-bust operation at Purok Kabulacan 1, in Brgy. Singcang Airport, Bacolod City, also led to the recovery of about 205 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P1.39 million and P1,000 in marked money.
PLt. Liberty Indiape, BCPO deputy spokesman, reported that the buy-bust operation led to the apprehension of Mark Daniel Angas, alias “Mark” of Brgy. 14, Bacolod City.
Seven grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P47,600 and P500 in marked money were also recovered yesterday by the police from a drug suspect identified by the police as Danilo Carpentero in another buy-bust operation at Purok Kagaykay in Brgy. 2, Bacolod City.*
