The Philippine Red Cross Molecular Laboratory for COVID-19 tests in Bacolod City is just waiting for a fit test in order to obtain a license to operate, PRC governor Jay Jalandoni said yesterday.
The lab is located at the PRC office behind St. John’s Institute in Bacolod City that may hopefully, begin operations this week, he said.
A fit test is conducted to ensure that employees at the laboratory follow proper Personal Protective Equipment donning and doffing procedures, Jalandoni said.
The PRC laboratory will be able to conduct 1,500 Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests a day, with results out in 24 hours, he said.*
