The Provincial Health Office reported that as of Saturday Talisay had the most number of COVID-19 cases among the cities and Murcia among the towns in Negros Occidental.
Bacolod that is a highly urbanized city is not under Negros Occidental. As of yesterday it had 3,884 COVID-19 cases, with 206 new ones during the weekend, the Department of Health reported.
Negros Occidental as of yesterday had 2,857 COVID-19 cases, with 152 new ones during the weekend, the DOH added.
The PHO data showed that based on the COVID-19 cases in Negros Occidental cities as of Saturday, Talisay had 473 COVID-19 cases among the 12 cities of the province, followed by Silay – 373, Bago – 247, Sagay – 162, Cadiz – 132, Himamaylan – 127, La Carlota – 120, Kabankalan – 109, Victorias – 88, Escalante – 73, Sipalay – 57, and San Carlos – 44.
Of the 19 towns of Negros Occidental, Murcia had the most number of cases at 130, followed by EB Magalona – 84, Binalbagan – 81, Pulupandan – 64, Hinigaran – 61, Valladolid – 60, Calatrava – 54, San Enrique – 49, Manapla – 48, Pontevedra – 46, La Castellana – 43, Cauayan – 40, Hinoba-an – 37, Moises Padilla – 29, Isabela and Toboso – 20 each, Ilog – 16, Candoni – 7, and Salvador Benedicto – 6.*
