The fifth most wanted person of Ozamiz City was arrested at Galo-Hilado streets in Barangay 20, Bacolod City, at about 11:20 a.m. Thursday.

The 28-year-old suspect, whose name was withheld by the police to protect the identity of the victim in the statutory rape, was nabbed on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Ozamiz Regional Trial Court-10, Branch 53 Judge Salome Dungog, who did not recommend bail for his temporary liberty, police records show.

The arrest of the suspect was a joint operation of the Bacolod City Mobile Force Company and Bacolod Station 4. He is now detained at the custodial facility of Station 4.

Meanwhile, a murder suspect was caught in Barangay San Benito, Calatrava town in Negros Occidental, at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Renato De-Erio, 40, of the barangay, has pending warrants of arrest for two counts of murder, issued by San Carlos City Regional Trial Court, Branch 59 Judge Reginald Fuentebella, with no bail recommended, police records show.

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Bacolod, the Calatrava Police Station, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion conducted the operation against De-Erio.*
