These six high-performing female executives of the Globe Group may be powerhouses in the workplace, but at home, they embrace their roles as loving moms and wives, cherishing rest and family time to stay focused, energized and motivated while guiding their teams toward excellence.

Being extremely busy during work days, Globe Chief Commercial Officer Issa Guevarra-Cabreira finds peace and quiet during her weekends by spending time with her two sons, with no scheduled plans, nothing hurried, and no expectations from herself.

“To me, that’s having a clear mind, seeing what’s most important to me right in front of me, and spending those precious hours with my sons,” she says. Issa emphasizes the importance of being present with loved ones, as it helps her recharge for the week ahead.

Similarly, Rizza Maniego-Eala, Globe CFO, CRO, and Treasurer, values the time she spends with her husband and two children. She believes that bonding with them over meals and family activities is essential for unwinding and recharging.

Bonding time for GCash President and CEO Martha Sazon means weekend trips outside Metro Manila with her family or going around her community.

“I unwind mainly during weekends and I like going on weekend trips outside Manila, whether it’s just a beach in Batangas or in the province, I love doing that. I also love traveling with my family, especially with the two kids. And lastly I like just going around the community, walking around, jogging, or even having some exercises, and after that, going on food trips,” said Sazon.

Minette Navarrete, Co-founder and President of Kickstart Ventures, and Marisalve Ciocson-Co, Globe Chief Compliance Officer, Senior Vice President – Law and Compliance, and Assistant Corporate Secretary, find comfort in simple pleasures. She enjoys watching Netflix, listening to podcasts, and indulging in cookies and ice cream, while Ciocson-Co would rather sleep or play chess – her happy place – away from work-related stress.

Spending time with her husband even doing mundane tasks like grocery shopping is sufficient for Globe’s Chief Customer Experience and Transformation Officer Rebecca Eclipse. But she also recognizes the importance of being able to anchor herself on prayer throughout the day. “My first resort is prayer because it allows me to connect with God who is in full control of everything,” she explains, sharing her personal practice as a way to unwind and seek guidance.

Globe Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer Yoly Crisanto also loves spending time with family, whether in sharing home-cooked meals, watching a good film, or traveling to places outside the usual tourist itinerary.

“How do I unwind? I cook, I cook for my husband. When my son is here I cook for my son. We all like a good home-cooked meal. Of course we watch Netflix, and sometimes we watch the movies. But more often than not, we travel. We go to different places especially in areas that are not really the usual places you’d think anyone will go to. So we like to discover new things. And, obviously, I love nature,” said Crisanto.

As the Philippines celebrates National Women’s Month, the inspiring stories of these remarkable leaders finding joy and rejuvenation in achieving personal and professional balance show that rest is a crucial ingredient in success.*
