Sixteen more former rebels have received financial assistance of P10,000 each from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, as facilitated by the administration of Mayor Raymund Tongson and the Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade.
A total of P160,000 in cash were distributed to the former rebels by Tongson, assisted by Brig. Gen. Orlando Edralin, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, and city DSWD personnel, during turnover rites held at the Himamaylan City Hall on May 12.
In previous months, 25 former rebels in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental also received P10,000 each in livelihood aid from the DSWD.*
