A total of 320 neophyte police officers are up for deployment in various Philippine National Police mobile units in Western Visayas, following their completion of the Basic Internal Security Operations and Combat Medic Courses in Iloilo.
The BISOC graduates are expected to be assigned at the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, as well provincial mobile force companies in different provinces of Western Visayas, including Negros Occidental.
During the graduation rites held at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City on May 16, PCol. Alexander Mariano, acting Chief of Directorial Staff of Police Regional Office 6, who represented PBrig. Gen. Archival Macala, Western Visayas police officer in charge, challenged the “combat medics” to be dependable, as they will be the lifesaver of their team when they are on the mission.
To BISOC trainees, Mariano told them take their training seriously, and enjoy it.
As the youngest members of the PNP, this is a great time to instill not only discipline, but also the spirit of unity and cooperation. No matter how hard work you will not reach the level of competence and preparedness necessary if you are not disciplined and you do not work together, he said.
Of the 320 trainees, 49, who came from various PNP units in Western Visayas, are combat medics.
“Learn and sharpen your skills, because in real life combat, there are no second chances nor turning back,” Macala said, in his message read by Mariano.*
