3ID maintains zero human rights violation

BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The Army’s 3rd Infantry Division maintains its record of zero human rights violation in Western Visayas, with no single complaint filed against it before the Commission on Human Rights since last year, its spokesperson, Maj. Cenon Pancito III, said yesterday.

The 3ID is also strengthening its partnership with the CHR in Western Visayas for future advocacy engagements expected to bring beneficial results to the government’s peace campaign, Pancito said.

“With CHR and the Army aspiring for a violence-free community, we can openly work together to attain this goal while putting the people’s wellbeing on top of every shared endeavor we will be taking in the future,” he added.

Maj. Gen. Eric Vinoya, 3ID commander, met with CHR regional head Jonnie Debuco recently in Iloilo City for a dialog and to strengthen ties between the two in promoting and defending the human rights of people in Western Visayas. The 3ID has infantry units stationed in Panay, Negros, and Bohol islands.*
