BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The number of focus crimes in Bacolod City significantly declined last month compared to the same period last year.

PLt. Col. Sherlock Gabana, Bacolod City Police Office spokesperson, reported that focus crimes composed of murder, homicide, physical injury, robbery, theft, vehicle theft, motorcycle theft and rape, dropped to 20 last month compared to 33 in the same month last year.

In the same period, Gabana also reported a reduction of nine percent in crime incidents, which was 118 last month compared to 131 last year.

He also noted a decrease in crime solution efficiency of BCPO from 93. 89 percent in April last year, to 77.12 percent in the same period this year.

The Average Monthly Crime Rate (AMCR) also reduced by 9.92 percent, Gabana said.

He attributed the crime reduction to the intensified police operations and crime prevention measures through the regular conduct of Enhanced Managing Police Operations.*
