Bacolod Bishop Patricio Buzon is inquiring from the Sangguniang Panlungsod if the City of Bacolod will resume the opening of its Christmas Bazaar at the Bacolod Public Plaza this December.
In his letter to the SP dated November 20, Buzon said they have learned of the update from one of the tenant exhibitors, who recently inquired if they can also open on the side of the plaza owned by the Diocese of Bacolod for the annual Christmas Bazaar.
“If this is the case, we wish to inform you that we also plan to use our own property at the plaza for the Christmas Bazaar. This portion covers the sidewalk from Gatuslao Street to Rizal Street, fronting La Consolacion College down to the Queen City Development Bank,” he said.
The Bishop said he is favorably endorsing Nilo Cuerpo, the requesting tenant, to secure the necessary permits for the Christmas Bazaar.
Cuerpo has assured the Diocese of Bacolod that his exhibitors will strictly comply with the health protocols, and rules and regulations set by the city, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.*CGS
