Bago Mayor Nicholas Yulo has ordered the disinfection and decontamination of all city offices and compounds effective today until the weekend, a press release from the city said.

First to undergo thorough sanitation are the Bago City Hall offices and its compound. Work was suspended today and the public was advised to transact on the next working day, which is on Monday, August 3.

This is in response to the report from the City Health Office that a city government employee has been tagged as Person Under Monitoring after she came in contact with her brother, who works at the Land Transportation Office in Bacolod that is on lockdown after a Covid-19 positive visited the agency. Both will undergo RT-PCR tests today, the press release said.

This is also a preventive measure of the City in ensuring virus-free city government offices for the safety of its employees and the public, the mayor added.

Yulo assured everyone that it is still safe to transact business at City Hall with all the strict health protocols being observed before one is allowed entry into the compound. The employees and the clients are subjected to thermal scanning, and urged to do hand-washing and observe physical distancing, the press release added.*
