BCPO seizes P272K in shabu

Another successful series of buy-bust operations of the police yesterday led to the recovery of P272,000 worth of suspected shabu and the arrest of a suspected drug peddler in Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City.

Arrested during a joint operation of Police Station 5, BCPO intelligence and Drug Enforcement Unit operatives was Crisvie Jimena, 32, who is being categorized by the police as a Street Level Individual personality.

P/Col. Joseph Thomas Martir, BCPO acting director, reported that an estimated 40 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P272,000, a weighing scale, a Nokia cellular phone, P500 in marked money and P190 in cash were also recovered by the police during the buy-bust operation.

Another buy-bust operation on December 13 at Purok Esmeralda in Brgy. Poblacion, Bago City, Negros Occidental, also led to the arrest of Rodel Parcon, a 41-year-old laborer.

The apprehension of Parcon, alias Buddy, yielded a gram of suspected shabu with a market value of P6,800, a motorcycle, P500 in marked money and P220 in cash, a report from the Bago City police said.

On the other hand, policemen also arrested Louie Mahilum also on December 13 in Brgy. 13, Victorias City, for illegal possession of firearms.

Mahilum, 36, who was observed to have been under the influence of liquor, fired his gun, a report of the Victorias City police said.

A Colt .45 caliber pistol with a magazine containing five ammunition and a spent shell were recovered by the police during his arrest.*
