The Bacolod City Lying-in and Birthing Center at the City Health Office was closed for disinfection and sanitation starting yesterday and will resume its full operations on August 27, Bacolod City Health Officer Dr. Ma. Carmela Gensoli said yesterday.
Gensoli said they have been disinfecting their offices every afternoon except the lying-in clinic because there are deliveries almost every day.
Since it is difficult to disinfect the Birthing Center they will not be accepting deliveries for about a week to sanitize the facility, she said.
The Bacolod City Lying-in and Birthing Center was established by the Leonardia administration in 2010 to help decongest the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.
It also caters to the less privileged residents of Bacolod who cannot afford medical or health services of private hospitals, she said.
Earlier, Room 1 of CHO and the Public Affairs and Assistance Division (PAAD) were temporarily closed from August 17 to 23, while the Human Resource Management Services Office was temporarily closed from August 17 to 24 for disinfection and decontamination.*
