The 6-day competition of the Bacolod Dancing Traffic Enforcers Challenge, held from October 5 to 19 in Bacolod City ended with Traffic Enforcer Hazel Nagar as the highly favored winning performer, a press release from the organizers said.

Presenting the awards were Bacolod Traffic Authority head P/Major Junji Liba, chief judging official and Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena and event creator Toots Jimenez Jr.

The event was held six times in three busy intersections of the city, with every performing day having three different judging officials.

Jimenez said the judging process of having new judges at every performance would really prove who among them would top the competition. Scores were accumulated to find the top three winners.

Fourteen BTAO traffic enforcers qualified for the competition after the elimination process that started with 20 entries.

“There was really fun on the road as drivers and commuters were amused with their dancing skills while on duty,” Jimenez said.

Liba inspired his personnel to deliver their traffic signaling duties with music and fun.

Jimenez said there is a plan by national sports tourism groups to go to the higher level of a regional and national competition among the traffic enforcers in the country. Surely the public will have the same fun experience next year, he added.*
