Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. has issued an order for the suspension of all scheduled activities in connection with the 48th Dinagsa Festival in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, until further notice.

This was due to the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in Cadiz City, the public advisory said.

Cadiz City has 109 COVID-19 active cases as of January 20, of which 88 are local cases, 12 frontliners, six Locally Stranded Individuals, and one each for ROF, APOR and Transient, according to its issued health advisory.

On January 19, the operation of Cadiz City Health Office and vaccination scheduled at Cadiz City Arena was cancelled after some of its frontliners developed COVID-19 symptoms. They are currently on self-isolation.

The Dinagsa Festival of Cadiz City is held on the last weekend of January.*
