Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer is presently the acting governor of Negros Occidental.

In his issued executive order dated May 16, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said that Ferrer will serve as acting governor of Negros Occidental, from May 17 to 25.

Lacson said he will travel to the United States for personal reasons during the period.

To ensure continuous and effective delivery of basic and social services, it is necessary to designate an Acting Governor to assume my duties and responsibilities, Lacson said in his executive order.

In November 5 to 11 last year, Ferrer also served as acting governor of Negros Occidental, while Lacson was in Australia.*
