Owners of the 14 houses that were either damaged or destroyed by tornado in Brgy. Bantayan, Kabankalan City, on May 17, got financial aid and food packs from the provincial government of Negros Occidental.

Board Member Jeffrey Tubola, who represents the 6th district in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, accompanied by personnel of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWDO) recently visited the barangay and led the distribution of assistance, as ordered by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.

Owners of damaged houses got P5,000 each, while those with homes destroyed by the tornado received P10,000, according to a press statement issued by the Capitol Public Information Office.

On May 31, a total of 13 houses were also destroyed by strong winds in Brgys. Busay and Taloc in Bago City.

Mayor Nicholas Yulo reported 69 individuals were affected.*
