The police yesterday seized about 1.3 million worth of suspected shabu from two drug suspects, including a barangay kagawad, arrested in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City.
Nabbed during the buy bust operation conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit led by PLt. Joven Mogato were Abby Araneta and Freely Boy Aldas, residents of Brgys. Alijis and Mansilingan, respectively in Bacolod City.
PLt. Liberty Indiape, deputy spokesperson of the Bacolod City Police Office, yesterday said Araneta, 28, is a kagawad of Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City.
The apprehension of the two drug suspects, who are categorized by the police as High Value Individuals in illegal drug operations, yielded an estimated 201 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P1,366,800, P700 in cash, marked money of P5,000 and a Toyota Vios sedan.
Both arrested drug suspects are now locked up in jail.
Initial police investigations showed that the illegal drugs being sold by the two suspects originate from Luzon.
About P87,720 worth of illegal drugs and its paraphernalia were also confiscated by the police from two arrested drug suspects on November 7 in Silay City and EB Magalona, Negros Occidental.
The apprehension of Christian Frederick Arnaez, categorized by the police as a Street Level Individual, in Brgy. 5, Silay City, yielded an estimated 11 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P74,800, marked money of P2,600, a cellular phone and several identification cards, among others.
Another buy bust operation of the police in Brgy. 2 poblacion, EB Magalona also resulted in the arrest of Clester Montanez and the confiscation of 1.9 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P12,900 and P500 in marked money.*
