Services of the Land Transportation Office in Bacolod City were suspended for 14 days starting yesterday after being compromised by the visit of a COVID-19 positive locally stranded individual from Victorias City, Riza Otayde, LTO Western Visayas public information officer, said yesterday.
Closed for decontamination until August 12 are the LTO Negros Occidental Licensing Center, Bacolod City District Office and Negros Occidental Law Enforcement Service at the LTO compound at Cottage Road, and the Drivers License Renewal Center at Robinsons Place Bacolod.
The about 50 Bacolod LTO employees will undergo 14-day home quarantines on orders of LTO 6 Regional Director Eric Lenard Tabaldo, she said.
The LTO has also requested that its Bacolod frontliners undergo COVID-19 tests, Otayde added.
The LSI, who was declared COVID-19 positive on July 26, had gone to the LTO Bacolod on July 16 and 17 to process his driver’s license, Otayde said.
The Victorias LSI had travelled from Cebu, she said. He has a truck and reportedly delivered goods to various areas in Negros Occidental.*
