The management of the Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary in Brgy. Minoyan, Murcia is pushing for new rates in preparation for its re- opening to the public after the Holy Week.
The proposed rate increase was discussed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental committee on Budget and Finance yesterday, which was presided over by Board Member Rommel Debulghado.
It is now up for approval the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental, according to Cheryl Decena,manager of the resort facility.
Decena disclosed that there has been no increase of rates on the accommodations and recreational facilities since 2003 and the last hike of entrance fee was in 2011.
As proposed by the resort management, the entrance fee will be increased from 50 to P120 for adults, and for minors, P60 from the existing P20.
Small picnic huts – P500 from P300 and big picnic huts will cost P800 from the previous P600;
Pagoda/pavilion trellis will be P500 from P200, while hotel accommodations with breakfast will go from P2,300 to P3,500 up to P4,000;
Family cottages from P5,500 to P9,000 (master suite) with P350 for extra person, while the rates of LGU cottages have remain at P1,500 to P2,500.
Decena said that the proposed increase in the entrance fees will now be inclusive of the use of the amenities of the facility.
Since the tourist facility has now been converted into a wildlife sanctuary, Decena said that the use videoke and noise creating equipment will no longer be allowed.
During its re-opening after the Holy Week, Decena disclosed that they will only accommodate day visitors. She however said that they may open to overnight visitors by May.*
