Brig. Gen. Rolando Miranda is the new regional police director of Western Visayas.
A member of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1990, Miranda will replace Brig. Gen. Rene Pamuspusan, effective today.

He used to serve as director of the Manila Police District.
Lt. Col. Joem Malong, spokesperson of PRO 6, said yesterday that Pamuspusan will be transferred to the PNP Directorate for Plans, based in Camp Crame.
Pamuspusan, a member of PMA Class 1988, served as regional police director of Western Visayas for one year and six months.
Miranda, on the other hand, is not a stranger to Western Visayas, as he had been the chief of directorial staff of the defunct Negros Island Regional Police Office, and also served as officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office in 2017.
Malong said the turnover of command ceremony has been tentatively scheduled for tomorrow at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City.
Meanwhile, two ranking police officials who used to be assigned in Negros Occidental were also promote to the rank of brigadier general.
They are Samuel Nacion, former officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, and Jack Wanky, former director of the Bacolod City Police Office. PNP chief, Gen. Debold Sinas, administered the oath-taking and donning of rank ceremony to the newly promoted officials at Camp Crame on Saturday.*GPB
