A policewoman assigned at the San Carlos City in Negros Occidental was among the national awardees during the 120th Police Service Anniversary on Sept. 23, which was done virtually with President Rodrigo Duterte as the guest of honor and speaker.
PSSgt. Maria Filomena Flores, who assigned at the Police Community Relations section of the San Carlos City Police Station, was honored for her outstanding and unwavering effort in the fight against criminality, terrorism and overcoming the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to regional police spokesperson Lt. Col. Arnel Solis.
The Roxas City Police Station in Capiz was also conferred with an award as the Best Component Police Station nationwide, Solis said.
In a statement issued by Police Regional Office Public Information Office, Brig. Gen. Rolando Miranda, regional police director, said that the awards received by Flores and the Roxas City Police Station will serve as an inspiration to the men and women of PRO6 to continue doing their mandate to serve and protect the people.
Miranda presented the plaques to the two awardees in Western Visayas, as reward and recognition for their exemplary commitment and outstanding performance in the police service.
President Duterte in his speech, recognized the efforts of the Philippine National Police for risking their lives in order to ensure the safety of the community.
“It is my hope to inspire you more to continue serving our country,” Duterte said.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año in his message, also congratulated the PNP for its 120 years of bravery, patriotism and excellence in service amidst this pandemic.*
