More than P2 million worth of suspected shabu was seized by the police from two drug suspects who were arrested on March 18 at Purok San Roque 1, Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City.

Nabbed by operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office Drug Enforcement Unit were Maria Elirica Celis, alias Caca, and Carlo Purillo, alias Balut, both classified by the police as High Value Individuals.

In a statement issued by the BCPO Public Information Office, the arrest of two drug suspects yielded an estimated 300 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P2,040,000, marked money of P3,000, and P240 in cash.

Three other drug suspects were also accounted for by the police, following their arrest in separate buy bust operations, also on Saturday in Negros Occidental.

The apprehensions of Arnold Tabilla in Hinigaran, Jay Luis Paurillo in Isabela and Arjay Alfredo de Leon in Ilog, also yielded an estimated 7.9 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P54,882.

Paurillo, who ranks number 3 in the drug watchlist of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, was also listed as member of the Bugalon Drug Group.

The five arrested drug suspects are now facing charges for violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.*
