A heated argument led to the hacking of a son by his father in Purok San Jose, Brgy. Salong, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Saturday.
The suspect identified by the police as Joemarie Apatan, 60, immediately escaped after hacking his son, Albert, 38, Kabankalan City police said.
Kabankalan police investigation showed the suspect and his son were having breakfast when a heated argument ensued between them.
Albert, who suffered injuries after being hacked with a bolo by his father, is now being treated at the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital while the suspect remains at large as of this time.
Meanwhile, another stabbing suspect Regie Castañares surrendered to the police after inflicting injuries to Julius Claver also on Saturday in Purok Mabinuligon, Brgy. Tabao Proper, Valladolid, Negros Occidental.
Castañares allegedly stabbed Claver, who is now being treated for his injuries at the Queen of Mercy Hospital in Bacolod City, police said.*
