Bacolod councilors Wilson Gamboa Jr. and Simplicia Distrito, together with artist Bamboo Tonogbanua, were the guests of honor at the opening ceremony on Saturday.

Gamboa, chairman of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Culture and Arts, encouraged the artists to continue their vision through their artworks that serves as refuge in times of desperation or crisis. This is a hobby or worthwhile activity to do during lockdowns.

“Although the art industry has been adversely affected by this Covid-19 crisis because we are dependent on visitors coming in to help the tourism industry, we hope things will eventually get better in 2021,” he added.

Distrito said that, “No matter how big the problem is, this can be mitigated for as long as we all help each other.”
