A plant and book swap corner was set up at the ground floor (beside Shakey’s) of the North Wing of SM City Bacolod on April 1 and a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Wednesday, April 6, with representatives from Plant Swap Bacolod and Bacolod Book Exchange.
SM City Bacolod is the first mall in Visayas and Mindanao to have a Swap Nook incorporating books and plants, SM Assistant Mall Manager Julia Javellana said during the ribbon cutting ceremony.
“I’m a certified plantita and bookworm and a member of both Plant Swap Bacolod and Bacolod Book Exchange. I thought it would be nice to merge both and bring it closer to the public,” she said.
This is the second time PSB partnered with SM City Bacolod and first for BBE.
For Plant Swap Rack, swappers should follow these guidelines: Plant Swap Bacolod members and mallgoers could get a plant and leave a plant as swap; For swaps with a specific person, please put their names on the pot; Pots with names are meant for specific. Don’t get if it’s not for you; Honesty based. Let’s be honest and only get 1 if you leave 1; and Plant donations are welcome. You may leave plants you want to give on the rack.
For BBE’s Little Free Library, a simple guideline should be followed: “Take a book. Leave a book.” Swappers and mallgoers may also donate books on site.
