The inbound travel of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) to Cadiz City and La Castellana in Negros Occidental has been suspended by the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF), to pave the way for disinfection and decontamination of their respective quarantine facilities.
Starting Nov. 15 to 30, the Cadiz City government will not accept returning LSIs, as approved by the RIATF, chaired by Juan Jovian Ingeniero.
In its letter to RIATF, dated Nov. 10, the city government of Cadiz requested for a moratorium for two weeks, to give them sufficient time to prepare their quarantine facilities before accommodating the new batch of returning LSIs.
As of Nov. 14, Cadiz had 79 active cases, with 302 recoveries and 13 deaths.
On the other hand, the travel suspension for returning LSIs in La Castellana takes effect Nov. 16 to 21, Ingeniero said in a memorandum dated Nov. 13.
Meanwhile, Mayor Renato Gustilo issued an executive order, that requires all private, business and commercial establishments to use and implement the VAMOS app, which aims at establishing an effective contact tracing system.
The VAMOS app was developed by the City’s Information Technology and Computer Services Office.
San Carlos has recorded 318 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 260 recoveries, 39 active cases and 19 deaths, as of Nov. 14.*GPB
