A senior citizen and two others were arrested by the police on March 11 in Negros Occidental, yielding about P150,000, worth of suspected shabu.
Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, backed up by local policemen, nabbed Rovener Nemenzo, 61, during a buy bust operation on Saturday at Brgy 5, San Carlos City.
The apprehension of Nemenzo, alias Nene Panggoy, yielded about 20 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P136,000, and marked money of P500.
Another buy bust operation at Purok Lerio in Brgy Zone 6, Talisay City, led to the arrest of a drug suspect identified by the police as Romeo Distrito, 52, and the recovery of about two grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P13,600, and P500 in buy bust money.
Policemen intercepted and arrested Erwin Trestiza, 27, at a police checkpoint in Sitio Overflow, Brgy Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, for illegal possession of firearms.
A caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing seven ammunition was recovered from the possession of Trestiza, who is now detained at the Kabankalan City police custodial facility.*
