S&R Membership Shopping, a chain of membership-only retail warehouse club in the Philippines, will open a branch soon at the BREDCO Port area in Bacolod City.
This was after Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez signed the lease agreement between S&R, represented by its president, Anthony Sy and Kareila Management Corporation, represented also by So Ha Uy, for the 200 square meter property of the city government inside the 1.6-hectare site for the retail warehouse club inside the port area.
Sy disclosed they will have to rush the construction of the two-storey warehouse club, as soon as the planning process is completed.
It will be constructed in a 1.6-hectare lot, with the ground floor designated as the parking area and the second floor allocated for the shopping area.
In a press conference, Sy said that they are expecting to hire 200 to 220 employees, aside from ancilliary employees of suppliers, and workers to be hired during construction stage.

In partnership with the local government unit, we see this an opportunity to grow and be part of the catalyst to jumpstart and further accelerate the development of Bacolod City, Sy further said.

Benitez also welcomed the entry of S&R Membership Shopping to Bacolod City.
“The timing is good since Bacolod City is poised for a strong come back for the economic recovery that we have planned for Bacolod City,” he said.*
