More locally stranded individuals, authorized persons outside residence, and overseas Filipino workers from Manila and Cebu, arrived in Negros Occidental yesterday.
Two hundred-thirty individuals, including 199 LSIs, 12 APORs, and two OFWs, on board the 2Go St. Michael Archangel vessel arrived at the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corporation port in Bacolod City yesterday, Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said.
The ship had departed from Manila on Sunday, and arrived at Fort San Pedro in Iloilo City at dawn yesterday, and proceeded to Bacolod.
Meanwhile, 271 LSIs from Tabuelan, Cebu province, arrived at the port in Escalante City, Negros Occidental yesterday, Lt. Comm. Jansen Benjamin, Philippine Coast Guard provincial head, said last night.
Benjamin said 42 service vehicles coming from different local government units, including the PCG bus, fetched the LSIs from the Escalante port.
The repatriation of LSIs from Tabuelan continued up to last night, and Benjamin said there are a total of 556 stranded Negrenses, as per record of the PCG-Tabuelan.
Meanwhile, 145 persons, including an infant from Manila, arrived at the Bacolod-Silay Airport in Negros Occidental, while 169 outbound individuals left for Manila.*
