The executive director of the Emergency Operations Center is urging the public to conduct virtual prayer services or memorial services during the celebration of All Saints Day and All Souls Day.

Former City Administrator Em Ang said the public is reminded to avoid gatherings or going to public or private cemeteries during these celebrations because the number of Covid-19 cases and deaths in Bacolod City are still high, as well as hospital utilization.

“We don’t want another surge of Covid cases due to social gatherings. We have done this last year and hopefully, if the celebration of All Saints Day and All Souls Day is safe, this will be good for us and our country will be safe, she said.

Ang said they are asking for the cooperation of the public. “There are many ways where we can celebrate the lives of our dearly departed family members or loved ones. So let us keep safe.”

Earlier, Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued Executive Order No. 50 ordering the temporary closure of public and private cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbaria in Bacolod City from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2, 2021 to enhance public health and safety protocols during the “Undas Season”.*
