The International WeLoveU Foundation (WeLoveU), an NGO officially associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications (UN DGC), held its 523rd Worldwide Blood Drive at Robinsons Place in Bacolod City on February 26.

The life-sharing blood donation event was conducted simultaneously in other parts of the country.

Until the end of February, WeLoveU is conducting blood drives in various parts of the world, including South Korea, India, the United States, Brazil, Namibia, and New Zealand. It is expected that the blood donation event will contribute to alleviating the blood supply shortage and raising awareness about voluntary non-remunerated blood donation that the World Health Organization (WHO) promotes.

Robinsons Place Bacolod livened up with people who visited to participate in donating blood from 10 a.m. There were over 70 participants, including WeLoveU members, their families and neighbors, together with Bacolod City Sectoral Affairs Office, and Barangay 11.

Bacolod City Councilor Renecito Novero and his wife visited the event and congratulated WeLoveU by saying, “you are sharing love and donating blood is saving life and you are a hero yourselves.”

Novero, together with the Bacolod City Sectoral Affairs Office provided some snacks for the blood donors and participants. PLt.Col. Norberto Barniso, representative of NOCPPO, and FO1 Paul Servano of the Bacolod City Fire Station also delivered messages to the members and promised to support future activities.

Barangay 11 headed by Barangay Captain Evelyn Ta-asan also joined the event, together with participants from her barangay.

A total of 72 participants and 17 people successfully donated blood, and 7,150 ml of blood was collected.

In 2021 when the COVID-19 pandemic was getting worse, WeLoveU actively participated in helping stabilize the blood supply by conducting blood donation events at the Philippine Red Cross in Mandaluyong, the Philippine General Hospital in Manila, and the Philippine Red Cross San Pablo City Chapter.

In addition, WeLoveU helped overcome COVID-19 by donating 10,000 masks and 24 hospital beds to the Quezon Medical Center under the Department of Health.

As a global welfare organization, the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation carries out activities such as blood donation, environmental cleanup, disaster relief, elimination of poverty and hunger, provision of access to clean water and sanitation, and educational support.

WeLoveU donated COVID-19 personal protective equipment and supplies as well as food and other daily necessities to 30 countries, including the Philippines.

WeLoveU also actively carried out disaster relief activities in the United States and Honduras when they were hit by hurricanes, Ecuador and Laos when affected by floods, when Nepal was struck by major earthquakes, Mozambique by a tropical cyclone, and many other disaster-affected areas all around the world.

All these activities are part of the “Save the World” project that WeLoveU carries out with a mother’s heart. The WeLoveU conducts the three major campaigns—Saving the Earth, Saving Lives, and Saving Humanity, and also works hard to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the international community.

In recognition of its humanitarian activities, the WeLoveU has received multiple awards from governments and organizations around the world, including the President’s Volunteer Service Award (Gold: the highest honor given to groups, 8 times) from the U.S. Presidents, the Order of Merit of the Republic of Korea, the Royal Order of Cambodia, and the Vicente Rocafuerte Medal from the National Assembly of Ecuador.*
