Another Negros Occidental official has tested positive for COVID-19.
Board Member Andrew Montelibano (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) confirmed yesterday that he tested positive for COVID-19 and he has absolutely no idea where he got the virus.
He said his RT-PCR test result was released by the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital molecular laboratory Thursday night.
Montelibano said he was symptomatic because he was suffering from a fever and was waitlisted for admission at the Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod that was full yesterday.
Meanwhile, his doctor has already given him needed medication.
He self-isolated himself from his wife after coming in contact with the bodyguard of Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson who tested positive for COVID -19, Montelibano said.
The board member said he will have his staff at home whom he had come in contact with tested for COVID-19.
Pontevedra Mayor Jose Maria Alonso Thursday said he and his wife, Mary Gerardine, have tested positive for COVID-19 and have gone into self quarantine.
Board Member Samson Mirhan (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) and EB Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon earlier also tested positive for COVID-19 but have since recovered.
