The highly-urbanized Bacolod City, that has now two cases of the Covid-19 Delta variant, will remain under the General Community Quarantine with Heightened Restrictions (GCQ-HR) classification, while Negros Occidental is under GCQ until Aug. 31, Malacañang announced yesterday.
Negros Oriental was also placed under GCQ-HR until the end of this month, while the province and city of Iloilo have been downgraded by Malacañang from Enhanced Community Quarantine to Modified ECQ, and Guimaras under GCQ.
As of Thursday, Negros Occidental had 940 active cases compared to 323 in Negros Oriental.
The Bacolod City government also reported a steady decline in Covid-19 active infections.
The Provincial Health Office of Negros Oriental reported that 84,844 residents have already been fully vaccinated, while 72,853 got their first dose.
It also reported having administered 241,094 doses of Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Janssen vaccines, as of Aug. 12.*
