The Love Negros and United Negros Alliance coalition in the 1st district of Negros Occidental have endorsed the tandem of Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer in the May next year elections, San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo disclosed yesterday.

Gustilo also said that incumbent Rep. Gerardo Valmayor and former Rep. Julio Ledesma IV also endorsed the coalition candidates and the tandem of Gov. Lacson and Vice Gov. Ferrer, who attended the activity on Sept. 10, at the 10.9 Resto Grand function room in San Carlos City.

Lacson also endorsed the re-election of Gustilo as mayor of San Carlos City, Mayor Marilyn Era of Calatrava, Mayor Melecio Yap of Escalante City, and the coalition in Don Salvador Benedicto led by Mayor Marxlen dela Cruz, and their respective vice mayors as well as councilors, under the Team Unity banner.

But Gustilo said Love Negros will have a candidate for mayor in Toboso, after a negotiation ended unsuccessful. UNegA is also fielding a candidate for mayor in Toboso.

Gustilo said that the coalition of Love Negros and UNegA in Don Salvador Benedicto, as arranged by Rep. Valmayor, however, turned out be as successful. Mayor Marxlen de la Cruz is a member of UNegA.

Board Members Rommel Delgado and Araceli Somosa of Love Negros also endorsed the Lacson-Ferrer tandem.

More than a dozen of mayors in the 3rd, 4th and 5th districts earlier endorsed also the Lacson-Ferrer tandem.

Lacson said he thanked the endorsement of officials in the 1st district of Negros Occidental, for his tandem with Vice Gov. Ferrer, in the next year elections.*
