Actor-turned mayoralty bet Javier Miguel Benitez said that his Team Asenso Victoriahanon will not engage in negative campaigning for the rest of the campaign period, amid the fake news and disinformation campaign against him and his team.
Even if we have heard that other candidates mention my name and put me in a bad light, this is not our style,” Javi, the son of former Third District Rep. Alfredo Benitez, pointed out in a post on his Facebook account.
Javi added that he believes that Victoriahanons do not like this.
“I’d like to remind everyone to please discern properly in this election and don’t fall for disinformation and fake news,” he further said.
“We’re grateful for the overwhelming support that you have been giving us thus far. We wish to thank you all,” he said adding that “We have been spreading our message of a clean, efficient, and inclusive government to as many Victoriahanons as we can.”
“In our house- to- house visits we try to spend as much time as possible with you. However, schedule constraints keep our time limited. Nonetheless, it has been the experience of our lives and I’m certain that we will treasure these memories for years to come,” he said, “we will stay strong and finish strong.”
To accusations that his campaign for the mayoral seat of Victorias City is getting people’s attention because of the presence of her girlfriend actress Sue Ramirez, Benitez said “that those people saying it don’t pay attention to my platform of government. It’s clear to Victoriahanons I speak to and that’s what matters.”
He admitted that the presence of Ramirez has been a big help in his campaigns.
Ramirez has been Victoria’s spotted personally accompanying Benitez and his team visiting the different barangays of Victorias City.*
