The provinces of Isabela and Cagayan in Luzon, that were badly hit by typhoon Ulysses, are also getting P1 million in financial assistance each from the provincial government of Negros Occidental.
This was decided during the meeting of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Tuesday, that was presided over by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.
Capitol had earlier announced that it will send P1 million in financial assistance to the provinces of Catanduanes and Albay, that were also hit by typhoon Rolly.
The PDRRMC resolution will be forwarded to the Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan for concurrence.
The four provinces were affected by the massive floods that brought havoc to their economies and displaced hundreds of residents, after being hit by typhoons Rolly and Ulysses in the past two weeks.
The Philippine Coast Guard-Southern Visayas district is also accepting donations for residents affected by the typhoon devastation in Cagayan Valley and Bicol regions.
PCG-Southern Visayas district commander, Capt. Eduardo de Luna, said they will accept donations such as food and water.
The designated drop-off point is the Coast Guard station in Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City.*GPB
