The funds for the second tranche of the Social Amelioration Program for 75,926 beneficiaries of Bacolod City amounting to P455.5 million was downloaded to the Department of Social Services and Development (DSWD) VI yesterday, Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya said.
Gasataya said he was informed by DSWD regional director Ma. Evelyn Macapobre that they had received the funds yesterday and will start releasing the second tranche of SAP not later than tomorrow.
DSWD Bacolod head PacitaTero said the beneficiaries will receive about P6,000 for May and the funds will be released through the barangays starting tomorrow up to Saturday.
She said the 75,926 beneficiaries are just the first batch of recipients for the second tranche of SAP. The leftouts will receive their SAP through remittance centers like Cebuana Lhuillier.
Tero said they have no list yet of those who register under the Relief Agad App.
The barangays have posted the schedule of distribution of the SAP to guide the recipient on where and when they can claim the grant provided by the government, she said.
Gasataya said he had followed up the matter from the DSWD about three weeks ago and is glad that it is now ready for release.
He said this will greatly help the people of Bacolod, especially those who have lost their source of livelihood due to the pandemic.*
