The Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement (PRRM), through its Negros Office, will be hosting its 70th Anniversary Forum today at the Mayfair Plaza, Bacolod City. The forum marks a celebratory event for PRRM as the oldest primary nongovernment organization (NGO) in the country.
The forum on the Philippine Development Situation and Challenges and Tasks for Small Fishers and CSOs carries the theme “Re-imagining Rural Development.” The main speaker is the present PRRM President Edicio Dela Torre, a former activist-priest and renowned national civil society leader.
Since its founding 70 years ago, PRRM has been at the forefront of rural reconstruction and sustainable development work in the local, national and international levels.
The forum will be attended in by leaders of various sectors and local civil society networks including small fishers, farmers, rural women and progressive professionals.*
