A total of 320 confiscated modified mufflers were destroyed on October 1 in front of the Victorias City Police Station in Negros Occidental.

Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel “Javi” Benitez, who supervised the destruction of the mufflers, locally known as “bora bora” by a road roller, also commended the Victorias City Police Station led by PLt. Col. Roy Rodrigo Gutierrez, for a job well done.

The destroyed mufflers had an estimated market value of P619,500.

Benitez renewed his call for the respect of city ordinances and laws, as he also reiterated his full support to the city police force, in the maintenance of peace and order in Victorias City.

During the activity, Traffic Enforcers Oscar Jimenez Jr, Nino Roy Leonoras and Corazon Gayotin were recognized as enforcers with most number of apprehensions on the implementation of traffic rules and regulations in the city, for the month of September.

In his speech, Gutierrez warned those patronizing the modified mufflers that this is a “continuing campaign” of the police.

The activity was also witnessed by Councilor Richard Julius Sablan, chairman of the SP committee on Transportation and Public Safety, and City Administrator Lindolf De Castro, and Executive Assistant James Gulmatico, among others.*
